The Client
Four is a buy-now-pay-later platform that lets users split purchases into four interest-free payments at hundreds of online retailers across the United States. The app provides a seamless shopping experience with flexible payment plans, payment reminders, and access to partner stores. Four has grown into one of the top-ranked commerce apps, competing alongside established names in the BNPL space.
The Challenge
Building a fintech product that handles real money, payment scheduling, merchant integrations, and regulatory compliance at scale requires exceptional engineering precision. The platform needed to deliver a flawless mobile experience while managing complex financial workflows behind the scenes, all while scaling to serve a rapidly growing user base across the US market.
Our Role
We have been embedded in Four's engineering team since the company's inception. Rather than working as an external vendor, we operate as an integrated part of their larger engineering organization, contributing to the core product that millions of users rely on daily. Our involvement spans the full product lifecycle, from architecture decisions to feature delivery and ongoing optimization.
