The Client
GlycanAge is a biotech company that has pioneered biological age testing through glycan analysis. Backed by 30+ years of research and 350+ scientific publications, their test measures chronic inflammation, a key driver of aging, by analyzing glycans on immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies. Their science has been recognized by Cambridge, Harvard, Oxford, Yale, Johns Hopkins, and King's College London, and they serve both individual consumers and healthcare providers worldwide.
The Challenge
GlycanAge's rapid growth from a research-backed startup to a global platform created enormous technical demands. They needed an entire digital infrastructure, not a single app, but a complete ecosystem of interconnected systems spanning laboratory operations, partner management, customer experiences, warehouse logistics, and third-party integrations. Each system needed to handle sensitive health data with strict compliance standards while remaining intuitive for diverse user groups: lab technicians, warehouse staff, healthcare providers, affiliates, and end consumers.
Our Role
Rather than hiring a large in-house engineering department, GlycanAge partnered with Jaspero as their dedicated technology team. Over the past 6 years, we have designed, built, and maintained their entire technical infrastructure, acting as a fully embedded engineering department.

Website
The public-facing platform at glycanage.com featuring the science pages, test ordering flow, pricing plans, provider sign-up, and blog. Built for conversion and SEO performance with server-side rendering.
Customer Portal
Where end users manage their biological age test journey. Activating kits, viewing detailed results with glycan breakdowns, tracking their age over time, booking interpretation calls, and accessing the AI health coach.
Partner Portal
A self-service dashboard for healthcare providers to order test kits, manage patients, access exclusive provider reports with five health indexes, and track their practice's integration with GlycanAge.
Affiliate Dashboard
A dedicated platform for affiliates to track referrals, monitor conversions, manage their commission payouts, and access marketing materials and unique tracking links.
Laboratory Management System
The core operational system that manages the entire sample lifecycle, from receiving blood spot cards, through IgG isolation, glycan release, fluorescent labeling, measurement, and finally calculating and publishing biological age results.
Laboratory Mobile App
A companion mobile application for lab technicians to scan samples, update processing stages, and manage workflows on the move, ensuring the triplicate analysis process runs smoothly at every step.
Warehouse System
Manages the logistics of test kit inventory, shipping, and returns. Tracks kit stock levels, handles international fulfillment for both B2C and B2B orders, and coordinates incoming sample shipments to the laboratory.
Warehouse Mobile App
A mobile-first tool for warehouse staff to scan, pick, pack, and dispatch test kits efficiently. Integrates with the warehouse system for real-time inventory updates and shipment tracking.
Partner API
A RESTful API enabling healthcare clinics and third-party platforms to integrate GlycanAge testing into their own systems, ordering kits, submitting samples, and retrieving results programmatically.
Web Components
A set of embeddable web components that allow partner clinics to integrate GlycanAge ordering and result displays directly into their own websites, reducing friction for providers who want a seamless patient experience.
Back Office
The internal administration platform used by GlycanAge's operations team to manage orders, users, partners, affiliates, support tickets, and system configuration across all products.
Business Intelligence
A reporting and analytics platform built on BigQuery, providing GlycanAge's leadership with dashboards covering sales performance, operational metrics, partner activity, and research data insights.
The Architecture
Every system we built is part of a tightly integrated ecosystem. A test kit ordered through the website or partner portal triggers processes across the warehouse system, shipping logistics, laboratory management, result calculation pipeline, and customer-facing dashboards, all orchestrated through shared services running on Google Compute Engine with PostgreSQL as the data backbone and BigQuery for analytics and research queries.
The Partnership
This isn't a typical vendor relationship. For 6 years, Jaspero has operated as GlycanAge's embedded engineering team. We participate in product strategy, make architectural decisions, ship features continuously, and maintain the entire infrastructure. As GlycanAge scaled from a research project to a global platform trusted by leading longevity clinics including Clinique La Prairie and Raffaele Medical, we scaled alongside them, adapting the technology to meet new demands at every stage.
