The Client
Plodovi.hr is a Croatian platform and sustainable supply system that connects local food producers, family farms (OPG), and small-scale manufacturers with consumers. Based in Osijek, the platform enables delivery of fresh, domestic products directly from the field to the customer's door within 24 to 48 hours. Their mission centers on transparency: "You have the right to know where your food comes from." Beyond the marketplace, Plodovi also specializes in short supply chain technology and offers personalized catering services using 100% domestic products.
The Challenge
Plodovi needed a comprehensive technology platform that could handle the complexity of a short supply chain marketplace. The system had to connect producers who list and manage their own products, shoppers who browse and order, delivery drivers who pick up and distribute fresh goods on tight timelines, and an internal team coordinating everything. Each of these user groups required its own tailored experience, all working together in real time to ensure produce moves from farm to table within hours, not days.
Our Role
We have been Plodovi's dedicated engineering team for 4 years, designing and building every piece of their technology from the ground up. The platform has grown from an initial concept into a full ecosystem of six interconnected systems serving producers, shoppers, delivery drivers, and the internal operations team.
What We Built
A complete short supply chain ecosystem
Website
The public-facing platform at plodovi.hr where customers browse products from 130+ local producers, read recipes, follow news, and place orders. Features delivery zone selection, product ratings, producer profiles, and an accessibility toolkit.
Retailers Platform
A dedicated portal where producers and family farms manage their product listings, set prices and availability, track inventory, handle incoming orders, and monitor their sales performance on the platform.
Shopper Portal
The customer-facing account area where shoppers manage their profiles, view order history, track active deliveries, save favorite products and producers, and manage their delivery preferences and addresses.
Delivery Platform & Mobile App
A delivery management system with a companion React Native mobile app for drivers. Handles route optimization, real-time order assignments, delivery status tracking, and ensures fresh produce reaches customers within the 24-hour window.
Admin Application
The central operations hub for the Plodovi team. Manages the full product catalog, producer onboarding, order processing, delivery scheduling, content management for recipes and news, delivery zone configuration, and platform settings.
Business Intelligence
A data analytics dashboard providing insights into sales trends, producer performance, delivery efficiency, customer behavior, and platform growth. Helps the Plodovi team make data-driven decisions about operations and expansion.
The Partnership
Over 4 years of working together, we have grown alongside Plodovi from their early days into the platform they are today. What started as building the initial marketplace has expanded into a full ecosystem of six interconnected systems. We continue to develop new features, optimize delivery logistics, and scale the platform as the producer network grows across Croatia.
